The author’s travels have taken her from Alathur to Auschwitz, from Irinjalakuda to Israel, from Varanasi to Vienna. She raps with Tunisian immigrants in Portugal about vegetarian food, discusses Black Madonnas in Prague with bemused tourists, rides on bullock-carts in Palakkad and falls off ponies in Pahalgam. She ventures into pyramids and onto great walls with equal enthusiasm, and writes of both the history and the spirit of the places she has visited.

Kamala Parasuram is one of a large family that was headed by a stern, intransigent father and a docile mother who had the softest disposition. Her favourite memories are of the many pranks she played on her unsuspecting parents and siblings, and of being hauled up for the least of offences, such as laughing.

Her sense of humour sees her through many situations and she believes in living life to the fullest, and telling no lies, rather like William, her favourite fictional hero. Her interests range from the paranormal to the spiritual, and encompass along the way UFO s, Copts and merkabas.
